Childrens Book Publisher
  • Danny lives in a gipsy caravan with his father, the most marvellous and exciting father any boy ever had.

All the land around them belongs to Mr Victor Hazell, a rich snob with a great glistening beery face and tiny piggy eyes. Nobody likes him, not one-little bit.

So one day, Danny and his father concoct a daring plot that will give the old blue-faced baboon Victor Hazell the greatest shock of his life – so long as they don’t get caught …

I thought it was good because he made the pheasants sleepy with raisins stuffed with some sleeping pills. Danny’s Dad made incredibly cool inventions.

I love this book. It was such a pleasure to read it aloud and become lost in the adventures of Danny and his Dad. The final
page has a warning to all future parents - one which I have taken to heart myself and would urge you all to read. Roald Dahl implores us all to become parents who are SPARKY!

We all read this book together in the evenings. The story engaged both children equally age 6 and 9, and their Mummy! Loved the enchanting story. Some sentimental parts, some exciting parts with suspense.
