  • February, 1941. After months of bombing raids in London, Olive Bradshaw and her brother Cliff are evacuated to the Devon coast. The only person with two spare beds is Mr Ephraim, the local lighthouse keeper. Olive becomes his post-girl, carrying secret messages (as she likes to think of the letters) to the villagers. But Olive has a secret of her own. Her sister Sukie went missing in an air raid, and she’s desperate to discover what happened to her.

This book is about a girl and her brother in World War 2. There sister goes missing, and the girl has a coded note she found from her sisters coat. The girl is evacuated with her brother, and the community is helping refugees into their town. It is really good, but there are some boring bits too.

Lots of exciting cliffhangers

I thought this book had lots of exciting cliff hangers at the end of all the chapters. After reading this book I want to read loads more books by Emma Carroll. The book was based on a young girl called Olive in 1994 during world war 2. There was a air raid when they went to a night at the movies and Olives elder sister Sukie goes missing and Olive sets out to find her.

This book made me feel Curious, Intrigued
