Mr Penguin and Colin (a spider and Mr Penguin’s silent right hand man) are called in to find the missing treasure somewhere in the Museum of Extraordinary Objects. The quest finds them solving secret codes, fighting ferocious beasts, eating fish finger sandwiches and travelling deep below the museum to a lost jungle…

Colin the spider made me laugh

Mr Penguin was great. Colin the spider made me laugh. The two thieves were a bit naughty. The book was funny and exciting. It made me feel happy, excited and scared.

I read Mr Penguin to my daughter and together we really enjoyed his adventures. There is a lot of slapstick humour which made us laugh, and Colin, Mr. Penguin's silent sidekick (he communicates via a notebook) has fantastic comic timing. There are alligators, a treasure map, secret levers and passages, a certain amount of peril and fish finger sandwiches! I would recommend reading this book to 5 year old upwards, children aged 7 upwards would enjoy reading it to themselves.
