For Will and his mother, going to Indonesia isn’t just a holiday. It’s a new start, a chance to put things behind them – things like the death of Will’s father. It seems to be just what they both needed. But then Oona, the elephant Will is riding on the beach, begins acting strangely. And that’s when the tsunami comes crashing in, and Oona begins to run. Except that when the tsunami is gone, Oona just keeps on running. Will must learn to survive deep in the jungle. Luckily, though, he’s not completely alone…He’s got Oona.

I thought the book was exciting .My favourite part of the book is the vocabulary and the most boring part of the book was when his grandma speaks.

This book was absolutely amazing because it was so moving! It was about a boy who father had got killed and then his mother was taken by a tsunami. He survives in the Jungle on an elephant and the book talks about oil palm and the illegal pet trade and orangutans ?! It’s such a moving and awareness raising book ?!!!

The book was quite sad and was about a boy who lost his dad in the war and there was a tsunami whilst he was on an elephant. I liked the way the author described the jungle and the relationship between the boy and elephant.
