It introduces the main character, Tom Gates, who hates his sister Delia and there is an annoying boy, Marcus Meldrew. There is also a girl called Amy who Tom has a crush on. Tom's favourite biscuits are chocolate wafers. Tom doesn't finish his homework in time so he gets lots of detentions.

Almost like a comic
I thought this book was very funnny and the pictures were very good. It was almost like a comic but it wasn’t. It isn’t like a normal book where all the words are in the same font they are all in different ones. This is a good book for people who like looking at pictures instead of lots of words.

It was very intriguing, exciting and had lots of cliff hangers. I would recommend this book to age 7 and over . If you are nearing 7 then buy this book and see if you find the humour as funny as I do .
