  • You’re called Fidge and you’re nearly eleven. You’ve been hurled into a strange world. You have three companions: two are unbelievably weird and the third is your awful cousin Graham. You have to solve a series of nearly impossible clues. You need to deal with a cruel dictator and three thousand Wimbley Woos (yes, you read that sentence correctly). And the whole situation – the whole, entire thing – is your fault.

A brilliant book

I thought that this book was very good. The main characters go on a crazy adventure in Wimbley Land and meet colourful Wimblies - all with different things they are good at. They are so funny - and the story is exciting. I would definitely read it again because it made me laugh out loud! A brilliant book.

I really enjoyed reading this book with my daughter. It is a surreal and rather strange tale, the main element of which is set in Wimbley Land - a land where the Wimbley Woos live! As with many children's books, this is a journey of self-discovery - but this one really is heart-warming and hilarous! From the bizarre Wimbley Woos to an over-protected cousin, from an enormous toy rabbit who cannot pronounce his "R"s to an over-the-top life-coach Ella, a toy elephant - this book will have you laughing out loud throughout. And through the funny and witty story, there is an important lesson for kids as to how to get the best out of yourself and others. I would definitely recommend this book.
