I recommend this book to everyone. We had this book as a class book and I really enjoyed it. It's about a boy called Jim Jarvis who lived in the Victorian era. He was poor and his family got kicked out of their rented room. He was sent to the workhouse and later escaped. He was then found and rented by a man who worked on a coal barge and Jim was forced to work very hard. On his second attempt, Jim escaped from the man too and later went too see a man called Barnie who wanted to help the homeless children who were living on the streets.
Our Reading Den is a place for you and your child to discover and share books, find new authors and explore stories. Here is a library of books created by a community of parents and children where you can browse books that others have enjoyed and recommended.
Once your child has discovered a new book we invite them to create their own online Reading Den and fill a bookshelf of their own. You and your child can review the books they have enjoyed and help others choose their next read.
