Let Libraries In

♥  Library Love  ♥

Library services across the UK have been working very hard to look after people in their local areas so that whilst we stay safe at home we can still read, stay connected to our community and join in with online activities.

Check out your local library’s website, blog posts or social media sites and see what they have to offer – it could be anything from ebooks to online craft sessions.

Most councils will have  information on their website about how you can connect online with your local library service.

Kids – make sure you ask your parent’s permission before using other websites. You may also need your library card number to borrow ebooks and audiobooks so ask your Mum and Dad to help.

Wokingham Borough Libraries have activities for children that can be accessed online. Please see below:

The following activities will be on their Facebook page (children – please ask your parent’s permission to use any social media, this includes Facebook) and keep checking as more activities are added over the coming weeks

  • Online Origami Club
  • Online storytime every Tuesday on the Facebook Page
  • Rhymetime – a rhyme a week will be coming out on Friday on the Facebook page.
  • Online Writing Club
  • Lego Club weekly challenge

A large number of online library services are still available, including ebooks and audiobooks. While the libraries are closed they have suspended the fines so there is no need to renew or return your books. Please look after the books, until such time as the libraries reopen, then you will be able to return them
